Aruba: Bucuti & Tara expands resort concept around regenerative wellness - Get updated on what's happening in tourism!

Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort in Aruba is expanding its wellness programme as part of a broader strategy to integrate wellbeing throughout the guest experience. The adults-only resort on Eagle Beach is introducing new group activities and private retreats while incorporating wellness elements into its accommodation, dining and nature-based experiences.

Rather than treating wellness primarily as a spa product, the resort is developing what it describes as a regenerative approach connecting physical and mental wellbeing with nature, the local community and the destination.

“True wellness is regenerative. It restores not only the individual, but also our connection to each other, to nature, to the local community, and to ourselves,” said Crescenzia Biemans, General Manager of Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort.

Group programme expands beyond traditional wellness classes

The resort’s weekly programme includes activities ranging from sunrise Tai Chi on Eagle Beach and Pilates to yoga, meditation, functional movement and mobility sessions. The complete programme of group wellness experiences will be complimentary for hotel guests.

Smaller interactive experiences complement the physical activities, with the concept designed to combine exercise, relaxation and opportunities to engage with Aruba’s natural surroundings.

Private retreats are also being introduced for different types of stays. Programmes for couples include private breathwork and partner yoga, while babymoon experiences combine meditation, mindfulness rituals and treatments.

The resort can additionally connect guests with selected external partners providing medical wellness services, including physician-led consultations and other specialised treatments.

Room renovation brings wellness into accommodation

Wellbeing is also influencing the ongoing refurbishment of the resort’s accommodation, which is scheduled to continue until the end of 2026.

Renovated rooms incorporate natural materials, circadian lighting, subdued colour schemes, work by local artists and wellness-oriented amenities. Evening tea rituals are among the additions intended to support relaxation and sleep.

The concept extends to food and beverage. Elements Restaurant combines Mediterranean influences with locally sourced ingredients and offers vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and health-focused choices, while other outlets incorporate Aruba’s culinary heritage and locally inspired products.

Nature reserve to become part of the experience

Further expansion is planned beyond the resort itself. Future programmes are expected to make greater use of the 32-acre Bucuti Tara–GMC Nature Preserve.

Planned activities include guided nature meditation, contemplative walks and sound-healing sessions, linking the wellness programme more closely with Aruba’s landscape.

The development reflects Bucuti & Tara’s attempt to combine its established adults-only and sustainability positioning with the growing wellness travel segment, while using Aruba itself as a central part of the guest experience.
