Eurowings is expanding its positioning as a value
airline and is introducing a new service for customers with a myEurowings
account: “Flex Light” is included free of charge from 26 October 2023 when booking
a flight in the SMART or BIZclass fare and offers a one-time rebooking of the
flight – free of charge and until 40 minutes before departure. The option
allows travellers to adjust their flights should plans change or unforeseen
circumstances arise. The Lufthansa subsidiary is thus continuing to offer the
no-fee rebooking that it introduced as a goodwill provision during the Covid
pandemic, making it a permanent part of its product portfolio.
“We understand that travel plans can change,
whether for personal or business reasons,” says Michael Erfert, Head of Sales
& Distribution at Eurowings and Managing Director of Eurowings Digital.
“With our no-fee rebooking option in the myEurowings account, we would like to
continue to ensure that our passengers have the flexibility they want, even
beyond the Covid pandemic. This way, they can plan and organise their journeys
without stress – and easily adjust them if necessary.”
Customers receive the free rebooking option when
they book the SMART or BIZclass fare in their logged-in myEurowings account.
This allows them to change the flight date and time once; only the potential
price difference to the new flight must be paid. Those who do not want to get a
myEurowings account can add “Flex Light” for ten euros when booking a flight.
Those who also want to do without this service and still have to rebook will
benefit from a significantly lower rebooking fee in the future: Eurowings is
reducing it from the previous 70 euros to 50 euros per rebooking.
The introduction of “Flex Light” will take place on
26 October 2023. Nothing will change for customers who booked their flights
before 26 October 2023 or for business customers who participate in the
EW4Business corporate program – the respective terms and conditions at the time
the flight was booked or the contract was made will apply.
