Reasonable TSA wait times at most Delta hubs

Longer security lines expected at Atlanta and New York airports during peak periods

Despite the ongoing partial U.S. government shutdown, most Delta Air Lines hub airports are currently reporting reasonable wait times at Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoints. Travelers are nonetheless advised to check their departure airport’s website before leaving for the airport in order to obtain the most accurate and up-to-date security wait time information.

According to Delta, several major hubs continue to operate with manageable screening times this week. TSA wait time information is available at the following Delta hub airports:

Detroit (DTW)

Los Angeles (LAX)

Minneapolis–St. Paul (MSP)

Salt Lake City (SLC)

Seattle (SEA)

Longer wait times expected at ATL, LGA and JFK

Passengers departing from Atlanta (ATL), New York–LaGuardia (LGA) and New York–JFK should expect longer-than-usual security lines during peak travel periods. At these airports, real-time TSA wait time data is currently not available on airport websites.

Delta therefore recommends that travelers departing from these airports allow additional time for security screening and arrive at the airport earlier than usual to avoid delays.
