While tablets under
the name "SkyTabs" have already been used in the Condor cabin since
2020, Germany's most popular leisure carrier is now relying on 10th-generation
iPads from U.S. manufacturer Apple for its successor, the "Cabin Crew
Devices."
Wide range of
applications
The new tablet can be
used for a wide range of purposes, including on-board sales, the provision of
manuals and the documentation required for the flight. The new device also
aligns the operating system with that of the cockpit workstations, thus
permitting excellent collaboration between the different work groups.
Personal use also
possible
In addition to
professional use, the new device can also be used for personal purposes under
certain conditions. A large number of applications are available for this
purpose, which can be downloaded by employees.
"With the introduction
of the Cabin Crew Device, we are offering our cabin crews an innovative and
user-friendly work device with high cross-app compatibility. The diverse usage
options - even private under certain conditions - set completely new standards
in this regard," says Christian Schmitt, COO and Accountable Manager at
Condor.
