Eurowings is expanding the deployment of its new
Premium BIZ Seat beyond the Berlin–Dubai test route. With immediate effect, a
second Airbus A320neo featuring the innovative 2×2 premium configuration has
entered service and will operate flexibly across the airline’s entire route
network. This marks the first opportunity for BIZ Class guests outside Berlin
to experience the new seat.
Premium comfort during a transition phase
A notable feature of the rollout is that, for a
limited period, the Premium BIZ Seat will be offered at no additional cost on
flights outside the Berlin–Dubai route. The aircraft serves as a technical
reserve for the ongoing market test, and no fixed route assignment is planned
at this stage. As a result, the seat cannot be booked specifically, allowing
passengers on selected services to enjoy the upgraded product free of charge.
“With the second aircraft, we are rapidly expanding
our Premium BIZ Seat offering beyond Berlin–Dubai,” says Jens Bischof, CEO of
Eurowings. “Offering the seat at no extra charge during the transition phase is
a clear signal: we want to give as many travellers as possible the chance to
experience the new product. Direct customer feedback is extremely valuable to
us.”
Now available from multiple departure points
Passengers can encounter the Premium BIZ Seat on a
wide range of routes, including departures from Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn,
Hamburg and Stuttgart. The aircraft will be deployed primarily on popular
leisure services, such as flights to Mallorca or the Canary Islands, extending
the benefits of increased space and privacy to travellers across several
regions.
Insights for future cabin concepts
By testing the new seating across its network,
Eurowings is gathering additional insights to inform future cabin developments.
The broader deployment complements the Berlin–Dubai market test and reinforces
the airline’s ambition to redefine premium comfort within the value segment. In
2025, Eurowings was named Europe’s best low-cost airline by British rating
agency Skytrax.
