18 million passengers: Eurowings continues its growth path

With a strong summer and autumn season behind it, Eurowings continues to build on its growth trajectory. Germany’s largest holiday airline carried more than 18 million passengers on 133,000 flights in the first nine months of 2025 – an increase of over 600,000 passengers compared with the same period last year. Operational performance remained exceptionally stable, with reliability exceeding 99 percent, placing Eurowings among the top performers in the industry.

The result also shows in customer satisfaction: the airline achieved a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 42, confirming the sustained trust and approval of travelers.

“We can look back on a strong travel season with top performance,” said Jens Bischof, CEO of Eurowings. “Due to high demand, we have significantly expanded our flight program and made it even more attractive for our customers by adding many new destinations. The strong performance of our Eurowings teams deserves all the more respect because we are operating in a market in Germany where location costs continue to rise, making flights increasingly expensive and therefore unprofitable on many routes.”

Expanding horizons: New medium-haul routes

Eurowings continues to grow its medium-haul portfolio in the 2025/26 winter schedule. The airline will connect Düsseldorf with Dubai three times a week – the first direct Eurowings service from North Rhine-Westphalia’s capital to the Emirati desert metropolis. Altogether, the airline will operate 28 weekly direct flights to Dubai from Cologne/Bonn, Düsseldorf, Berlin, Stuttgart, and Hanover.

Additional growth comes from new routes to Amman (Jordan) from Stuttgart, and expanded services to Morocco, with Marrakesh now linked to Hanover, Salzburg, Stuttgart, and Prague.

Streamlining the domestic network

In response to record-high airport and air traffic fees in Germany, Eurowings continues to scale back unprofitable domestic routes. Connections such as Nuremberg–Hamburg, Hamburg–Cologne/Bonn, and Dortmund–Munich have already been withdrawn from the schedule.

Positive financial performance

The Lufthansa Group’s Point-to-Point segment, comprising Eurowings and SunExpress, reported an adjusted EBIT of €61 million as of October 30, 2025. The workforce also grew to nearly 5,500 employees, reflecting the airline’s continued expansion and operational strength.

With its blend of reliability, efficiency, and new destinations, Eurowings reaffirms its position as a leading European leisure and value airline – and as one of the Lufthansa Group’s key drivers of sustainable growth.
