With the opening of a new base in Fethiye, Turkey,
international yacht charter specialist The Moorings is expanding its presence
in the eastern Mediterranean. From summer 2026, the company will introduce
charter operations in a largely undiscovered part of the Aegean, known for its
sheltered waters, short sailing distances and a distinctive blend of nature,
history and culture.
The Gulf of Fethiye is considered one of the most
diverse charter areas in the Mediterranean. Calm seas, clear visibility and
manageable passages make the region appealing to both experienced sailors and
less seasoned crews. At the same time, the coastline reveals a landscape shaped
by ancient myths, Lycian archaeological sites and long stretches of largely
unspoilt shoreline.
New fleet based in Fethiye
From July 2026, two sailing catamarans – the TM 4600-5
and TM 5200-6 – as well as a TM 464PC power catamaran will be available from
the new base. The yachts accommodate between eight and twelve guests and can be
booked with or without a skipper, catering both to independent sailors and to
guests who prefer a relaxed experience with a professional crew.
The new models reflect the comfort and design
standards for which The Moorings has been renowned worldwide for more than 50
years. Spacious deck areas, well-conceived layouts and modern equipment define
the fleet, which can be booked online or by phone, and until 25 January 2026
also at the boot Düsseldorf trade fair.
A cruising area between antiquity and nature
Around Fethiye, sailors will find a dense
concentration of natural and cultural highlights. Pine-lined bays, sheltered
anchorages and small islands are often just short sails apart. Notable
destinations include the waters around Gemiler Island, the Blue Lagoon at
Ölüdeniz and numerous secluded coves accessible only from the sea.
Onshore, ancient ruins, traditional villages and a
distinctive regional cuisine complement the sailing experience. Fethiye itself
combines modern marina infrastructure with historic sites and a vibrant local
culture, making it an ideal base for both cruising and land-based exploration.
The Moorings experience in Turkey
Alongside the new cruising area, The Moorings is also
bringing its established concept of service, comfort and relaxed travel to
Turkey. “Our guests come to us for the comfort, the service and the feeling of
complete relaxation on the water,” says a spokesperson for The Moorings.
“Fethiye offers this naturally. It is a destination shaped by stories, and our
yachts are designed to help guests write their own.”
Booking and information
Detailed cruising routes and destination information
for Fethiye are available on The Moorings’ website. Personal consultation and
booking are also offered through the company’s German-speaking team.
