Vietnam: TUI BLUE Han River opens in Da Nang - Get updated on what's happening in tourism!

TUI BLUE Han River has opened in Da Nang, adding a new internationally branded property to the hospitality landscape of the central Vietnamese city. Developed by Thaigroup and operated under the TUI BLUE brand, the 125-room hotel welcomed its first guests on 8 August 2026.

Located directly on the Han River, the property combines accommodation with restaurants, wellness facilities, business services and leisure areas. Its position provides views across the river and towards the coast, while offering access to Da Nang’s urban attractions and surrounding region.

International brand with a local identity

Dewan Architects + Engineers served as lead designer for the hotel. The architectural concept draws on the landscape and cultural heritage of Da Nang while incorporating the contemporary character of a rapidly developing Vietnamese city.

Architecture and interiors were conceived as a connected experience, with references to regional culture and craftsmanship integrated into an international hotel design. The location on the Han River also plays a central role, with spaces arranged to make use of views across the water and towards the ocean.

Axel de Boynes, Pre-opening Manager and General Manager of TUI BLUE Han River, said the design had translated the brand’s “Hotels designed for you” philosophy into the local setting. Authentic experiences and modern wellness were combined with Da Nang’s character, while the architecture drew inspiration from the flowing forms of the river.

Rooms, wellness and rooftop experiences

The 125-room property has been designed for both leisure and business travellers. Guest rooms and suites are complemented by restaurants and bars, wellness facilities, an outdoor swimming pool and spaces intended for meetings and other business requirements.

Dewan says particular attention was paid to combining guest experience with the operational requirements of an international hotel brand. Public areas, accommodation, wellness facilities and rooftop spaces were planned as parts of a consistent overall concept.

Mohammed Adib, Chief Design Officer at Dewan, said the project demonstrated the value of combining international hospitality experience with a genuine sense of place. The design team had sought to meet international standards while improving operational efficiency and reflecting its knowledge of the Southeast Asian market.

Da Nang strengthens international hotel portfolio

The opening adds another internationally operated hotel to Da Nang, which has developed into one of Vietnam’s major leisure destinations. Its combination of beaches, urban attractions and access to the cultural destinations of central Vietnam has helped broaden the city's appeal to international visitors.

For TUI BLUE, the property provides a base from which guests can combine a city stay with the coastal and cultural experiences of the surrounding region. Its riverfront location also distinguishes the hotel from Da Nang’s numerous beachfront resorts.

Hotel receives three design awards

TUI BLUE Han River has already received several industry awards. At the 2026 Asia Architecture Design Awards, the property was named Asia’s Best Hospitality Interior Design and Asia’s Finest Boutique Hotel.

The hotel also received a Gold Award at the 2026 VMARK Vietnam Design Awards. Dewan itself was recognised as Asia’s Best Firm in Architecture Design and Asia’s Best Firm in Hospitality Architecture Design.

The awards underline the design-led positioning of the new property, which combines the standards of an international hotel brand with architectural references to Da Nang and its riverside setting.
