World Travel Market (WTM) London will gather the
largest number of global tourism leaders in its history at this year’s Ministers’
Summit, taking place on Tuesday, 4 November, in collaboration with UN Tourism
and the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). Moderated by Christian
Fraser, Chief Presenter at BBC News, the 19th edition of the summit will be
held in the new Maritime Suite, George V Room 1, part of ExCeL London’s latest
expansion.
Largest-ever assembly of global tourism ministers
The WTM Ministers’ Summit has long been recognized as
the world’s largest annual gathering of tourism ministers and senior
policymakers. In 2024, the event attracted over 50 ministers—a 12% increase on
the previous year—marking a record turnout. With attendance for WTM London 2025
expected to surpass all previous editions, this year’s summit will build on
that momentum to present its most impactful program yet.
Theme: Reimagining Tourism Investment Models
Under the banner “Reimagining Tourism Investment
Models: Building Next-Generation Incentives,” this year’s summit will explore
innovative approaches to attracting and sustaining tourism investment. The
agenda will focus on:
·
Integrating emerging technologies to unlock new markets
·
Aligning tourism investment with national economic transformation
agendas
·
Diversifying investment models to enhance long-term resilience
The discussions will reflect WTM London’s overarching
2025 theme, “Reimagining Travel in a Changing World.” Building on last year’s
AI-focused conversation, the summit will look ahead to how governments and the
private sector can transition from traditional, service-based tourism economies
to strategic, innovation-driven investment frameworks.
A pivotal year for global tourism
With the global tourism industry entering a period of
profound transformation, this year’s summit aims to chart practical steps to
ensure the sector’s growth is sustainable, resilient, and inclusive.
WTM London 2025: A wider agenda of innovation and
sustainability
Also taking place on Tuesday, 4 November, WTM London’s
conference program will feature the Sustainability and Geo-economics Summits,
as well as the unveiling of the WTM Global Travel Report. On Wednesday, the
focus will shift to the Technology and DEAI Summits, followed on Thursday by
the Marketing Summit, ITT Future You Forum, and a closing keynote session with
a special guest to be announced soon.
“As the world’s most influential travel show, we’re
delighted to be hosting the Ministers’ Summit once again, particularly
following such strong engagement last year,” said Chris Carter-Chapman, Event
Director of WTM London. “WTM London continues to shape global tourism policy by
driving dialogue on the key challenges and opportunities facing the sector—from
conflict and climate change to technological transformation. This summit is
about sharing best practices and harnessing tourism as a genuine force for good.”
