World
Travel Market (WTM) London has revealed the first details of its 2025
conference agenda, setting the stage for the largest edition in its 45-year
history. With over 40 sessions already scheduled and more to come, this year’s
programme introduces a unifying theme across all stages: Reimagining Travel in
a Changing World. The approach gives speakers a shared framework to explore how
tourism is adapting to global shifts, from policy reforms to evolving traveller
expectations.
Building
on last year’s momentum
The
2025 programme follows a year of record engagement: attendance across all
tracks rose by 19%, with standout growth at the Sustainability Summit (+128%)
and significant increases at both the Marketing and Technology Summits (+75%).
Organisers aim to build on that success with deeper insights and more diverse
perspectives.
Flagship
sessions return
Among
the highlights are the WTM Trends Report in association with Oxford Economics,
presented on Tuesday 4 November in the Yellow Theatre, followed by a high-level
panel debate. The WTM Ministers’ Summit, now in its 19th year and moderated by
the BBC, will convene global tourism leaders the same morning in the expanded
ICC Maritime Suites.
The
UK’s Tourism Minister, Sir Chris Bryant, will join the C-suite panel From
Fortnum to F1, exploring London’s development as an event hub. This takes place
on Tuesday afternoon in the Yellow Theatre.
Specialist
summits
The
2025 edition also features a wide range of standalone summits, each aligned
with the programme’s dedicated tracks:
·
DEAI Summit (Orange Theatre, 5
November): Reclaiming Global Inclusion, organised by Uwern Jong, OutThere
·
Technology Summit (Purple Theatre, 5
November): The Technology Case for Empathy in Travel, led by Timothy
O’Neil-Dunne, T2Impact LLC
·
Geo-economics Summit (Orange Theatre,
4 November): Macro-economic Shifts in Travel, curated by Mark Frary
·
Marketing Summit (Yellow Theatre, 6
November): Travel Marketing Evolution, with Matthew Gardiner, Travel Massive,
and Tina Charisma, Charisma Campaign
·
Sustainability Summit (Purple Theatre,
4 November): Sustainable Tourism is Dead – Long Live Sustainable Tourism, by
Tina O’Dwyer, The Tourism Space
New
topics and fresh perspectives
A
dedicated media and influencer series will examine how artificial intelligence
is transforming travel journalism (5 November, Media Centre). Other sessions of
note include futurist Tony Hunter on the intersection of food, technology, and
travel, with insights into how Gen Alpha is redefining gastronomy tourism
(Yellow Theatre, 5 November).
