Ryanair announced today (Wednesday, 24 September) that
its switch to 100% digital boarding passes will take effect on Wednesday, 12
November, rather than Monday, 3 November as originally planned. The change
ensures customers transition during a quieter travel period following the
autumn holidays.
From Paper to Fully Digital
From 12 November, passengers will no longer be able to
download and print a paper boarding pass. Instead, they must present the
digital pass generated during check-in via the myRyanair app in order to board
their flight.
Part of Ryanair’s Digital Transformation
The move marks the latest milestone in Ryanair’s
industry-leading digital transformation. In recent years, the airline has
rolled out multiple app features designed to enhance the travel experience for
its more than 206 million customers, especially in cases of flight disruption:
·
Order to Seat: Pre-order food and drinks via mobile and be served first.
·
Real-time flight information: Live updates on boarding, gates and
delays.
·
Instant disruption alerts: Push notifications directly from Ryanair’s
Operations Centre.
Following Wider Trends
Almost 80% of Ryanair’s passengers already use digital
boarding passes. Moving to a fully digital system aligns the airline with other
industries such as music, sports and festivals, which have successfully
transitioned to mobile-only ticketing.

Çameli Joins the Cittaslow Network – Türkiye Now
Counts 27 Member Towns
In southern Denizli, Çameli has been awarded the
international Cittaslow label. The region stands out for its pristine nature,
traditions, and commitment to sustainable living
Set among highlands, forests and age-old villages,
Çameli preserves a rhythm of life increasingly valued in Türkiye. Now
officially part of the international Cittaslow network, the district joins 26
other Turkish towns that embody the philosophy of slow living and local
authenticity.
Recognition in South Korea
Çameli’s designation was confirmed during the
Cittaslow National Assembly on Wando Island, South Korea. By joining, the town
becomes part of a worldwide network committed to protecting local heritage and
promoting a slower, more mindful pace of life.
“Çameli represents an authentic piece of Anatolia – a
place where nature and tradition coexist in harmony,” said Mayor Cengiz Arslan.
“With Cittaslow membership, we aim to preserve this treasure while offering
visitors new perspectives on sustainable travel.”
Nature, Adventure and Tradition
Located about 110 kilometers south of Denizli city,
Çameli is known for its cool summers, snowy winters, clear lakes and
waterfalls. The area is ideal for hiking, cycling and paragliding. Its villages
showcase traditional crafts, organic farming and local flavors such as Çameli
beans and fresh trout.
Denizli – From Travertines to Wine Routes
The wider Denizli province is famous for the
travertine terraces of Pamukkale and the ancient city of Hierapolis, both
UNESCO World Heritage sites. Other historic centers include Laodicea, Colossae
and Tripolis. Denizli is also gaining recognition as a wine region,
particularly for the Çal Karası grape, which accounts for nearly one-fifth of
Türkiye’s wine production and is prized for its mild character and delicate
aromas.
Türkiye as a Cittaslow Pioneer
Since Seferihisar in İzmir became Türkiye’s first
Cittaslow member in 2009, the network has steadily expanded. Today, 27 towns in
23 provinces belong to the movement – from Ahlat on Lake Van to Foça on the
Aegean, from Gökçeada to Safranbolu. With this broad representation, Türkiye
has become one of the most active countries in the global Cittaslow movement,
blending diverse landscapes, traditions and cuisines with the philosophy of
mindful, sustainable living.
