Tourexpi
With
118 redesigned guest rooms, vibrant social spaces, and flexible meeting
facilities, the hotel blends Scandinavian minimalism with a playful,
contemporary twist.
The
property marks a milestone in sustainable hospitality. Verified by TÜV
Rheinland, it already meets the 2040 requirements of the Net Zero Methodology
for Hotels, placing it well ahead of the Group’s 2050 Net Zero target. Formerly
the Park Inn by Radisson, the fully transformed building now offers guests easy
access to Oslo landmarks such as the Opera House, the Munch Museum, and the
Royal Palace Gardens.
A
new standard for city hospitality
Radisson
RED Oslo City Centre combines high design with an inclusive atmosphere,
offering a restaurant, bar, lounge, gym, and six meeting rooms for up to 100
guests. Its interiors feature bold colors, tech-forward amenities, and social
spaces designed for connection and creativity.
At
the forefront of climate-conscious travel
Built
in 1939, the hotel has undergone an extensive transformation to meet rigorous
Verified Net Zero standards. It runs entirely on 100% renewable energy, offers low-carbon
menus in partnership with Klimato, and operates with minimal waste initiatives
including food waste tracking, recycling partnerships, and plastic-free
amenities.
“Pioneering
the first two Verified Net Zero hotels is a significant milestone,” said Inge
Huijbrechts, Chief Sustainability & Security Officer at Radisson Hotel
Group. “With most buildings that must reach Net Zero by 2050 already in
existence, transforming current properties is essential.”
Remaining
emissions are offset through carbon removal certificates from regenerative
farming projects across Europe. Guests can experience these efforts directly,
from renewable energy to digital tools reducing paper use, bulk bathroom
amenities, and recycling in all rooms.
“Radisson
RED Oslo City Centre proves that energy-efficient transformation is possible
for existing buildings,” added Tom Flanagan Karttunen, COO, Leased Hotels,
Radisson Hotel Group. “We deliver memorable, responsible stays that align with
guest expectations.”
With
Oslo now home to one of the world’s first Verified Net Zero hotels, visitors
can enjoy modern comfort while knowing their stay leaves no carbon footprint.
