Radisson Hotel Group has announced the opening of the
Radisson Blu Hotel, Almaty Airport, a new upscale property located just 2.6
kilometres from Almaty International Airport. The hotel is positioned along the
main route connecting the airport with the city centre and can be reached in
about 25 minutes by car.
The opening marks the group’s third hotel in Almaty
and reflects the company’s continued expansion in Central Asia’s growing
hospitality market. With its location close to the airport, the property is
designed to serve business travellers, airline crews and international visitors
seeking convenient access to both the airport and the city.
Designed for transit and business travellers
The hotel offers 171 rooms and suites designed for
both short and extended stays. The accommodation range includes junior suites,
accessible rooms and a presidential suite with panoramic views.
Several dining venues are available on site. The
Mezzanine Restaurant serves all-day dining, while the Lobby Lounge & Bar
offers a relaxed setting in the hotel’s lobby. The F7 Skybar & Lounge
features a rooftop terrace with views of the surrounding mountains and city
skyline, providing a setting for business meetings or informal gatherings.
Facilities at the hotel are tailored to the needs of
modern travellers. The property includes a 490-square-metre spa area with an
indoor swimming pool and a fully equipped fitness centre. Additional amenities
include a dedicated lounge for airline crew members, flexible meeting
facilities covering 285 square metres, a children’s game room and an on-site
beauty salon.
Together these facilities position the hotel as a
convenient base for international travellers and corporate guests passing
through the airport.
Expansion in one of Central Asia’s key cities
Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city and financial
centre, has a population of more than two million people and plays an important
role in the region’s economic and diplomatic networks. The city is experiencing
steady growth in international air connectivity and urban development.
For Radisson Hotel Group, Almaty represents a
strategic market in Central Asia. The company opened the Sadu Hotel, a member
of Radisson Individuals, in 2025 and has also signed the Radisson Hotel &
Residences Almaty as part of its regional expansion plans.
David Jenkins, Vice President Business Development at
Radisson Hotel Group, said: “This hotel represents a significant milestone in
our expansion strategy for Kazakhstan. We see strong demand for branded upscale
hospitality near Almaty Airport, and this new Radisson Blu will set a new
benchmark for comfort and convenience in the area. From business travelers to
airline crews, we look forward to welcoming guests to an exceptional Radisson
Blu experience.”
Modern design and strong market positioning
The Radisson Blu Hotel, Almaty Airport operates under
a franchise agreement with NS7 LLP. The interior design follows the brand’s
Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic, combining clean lines, natural materials and
functional elegance.
The hotel is also positioned to benefit from rising
passenger numbers at Almaty International Airport. The airport handled around
12.5 million passengers in 2025, reflecting increasing international
connectivity and visitor arrivals.
With limited internationally branded hotels in the
immediate airport area, the new Radisson Blu aims to serve a wide range of
guests, including government delegations, airline personnel and corporate
travellers.
Through the opening, Radisson Hotel Group continues
its strategy of developing high-quality hospitality properties at major gateway
locations across Central Asia.
