IHG Hotels & Resorts continues the evolution of
the Regent brand with the introduction of Regent Spa & Wellness, a new
global wellbeing concept designed to “elevate guests above the noise.” The
programme, developed in partnership with wellness specialists Raison d’Etre,
will be implemented across selected Regent hotels and resorts.
Regent Bali Canggu serves as the first showcase of the
concept, with additional openings planned in Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur, and Kyoto
over the coming years. Each property will interpret the Regent Spa &
Wellness philosophy through location-specific design, treatments, and guest
experiences.
“Wellbeing is increasingly integral to how and why we
travel,” said Tom Rowntree, Vice President of Global Luxury Brands at IHG
Hotels & Resorts. “Through Regent Spa & Wellness we are introducing
extraordinary new ways for our guests to optimise how they feel, extending
Regent’s modern luxury positioning.”
Sensorial design and restorative rituals
The experience begins with a ceremonial arrival
designed to create a clear separation from the outside world. Spatial concepts,
including octagonal architectural elements symbolising renewal, guide the flow
of energy throughout the facilities.
A signature three-step journey anchors the treatment
philosophy. Guests first undergo “The Reset,” a meditative sound therapy
intended to calm the senses before therapies commence. Subsequent treatments
combine elements such as gemstones, light frequencies, and aromatherapy to
deepen relaxation and recovery.
“We believe that when the mind is stilled, the senses
awaken,” explained Anna-Cari Gund, Managing Director of Raison d’Etre. “Regent
Spa & Wellness reimagines traditional spa environments through colour, art,
and immersive sensory experiences.”
Movement and fitness areas reflect the concept’s
emphasis on balance, juxtaposing restorative practices with higher-intensity
training environments inspired by the interplay of Yin and Yang.
Launch property: Regent Bali Canggu
At Regent Bali Canggu, the spa integrates Indonesia’s
wellness heritage with contemporary therapies. Signature treatments include
massages performed on warm quartz sand beds, crystal-based rituals, and
technology-enhanced facials. Dedicated experiences for younger guests respond
to growing demand in the multi-generational travel segment.
Global expansion pipeline
Following Bali, Regent Jeddah will introduce the
concept later this year with a 1,500-square-metre spa. Regent Kuala Lumpur is
scheduled for 2027, followed by Regent Kyoto in 2028.
Regent currently comprises 11 operating hotels and
resorts worldwide, with a further 11 properties in development as part of IHG’s
upper luxury portfolio.
