The
partnership connects EVA Air passengers arriving in Los Angeles (LAX), San
Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA), and Chicago (ORD) to Southwest Airlines’
extensive domestic network, offering travelers enhanced connectivity, greater
flexibility, and access to more destinations across the United States.
The
agreement integrates the networks of both airlines at participating gateway
airports. Passengers can now book a single itinerary covering flights operated
by both carriers, benefit from coordinated ticketing, and check baggage through
to their final destination. Boarding passes for all segments are issued at the
first point of departure, streamlining transfers and making connections more
efficient.
“This
partnership positions EVA Air for long-term growth in an evolving market by
combining resources with Southwest Airlines,” said Andrew Su, Executive Vice
President, EVA Air America Head Office. “Together, we’re streamlining
operations, connecting with a broader range of travelers, and responding more
swiftly to changing market needs. Beyond simply adding flight options, we are
dedicated to reimagining how we serve our passengers with travel experiences
that are more personalized, flexible, and thoughtfully designed around their
needs.”
Andrew
Watterson, Chief Operating Officer at Southwest Airlines, added:
“Our
relationship with EVA Air brings new opportunities for access between Asia and
the United States through our unmatched domestic network. We are grateful for
this partnership and the additional dimension it brings to our ongoing efforts
to provide more choice in travel experiences with global reach.”
Beyond
improving travel logistics, the interline partnership aims to provide
competitive fares and expanded transpacific options. Tickets are now available
through EVA Air’s website, booking platforms, and major travel agencies.
Through this unified booking process, passengers can connect from EVA Air’s
North American gateways to more than 30 Southwest destinations, including
Denver, Las Vegas, Nashville, Tampa, and Baltimore.
EVA
Air currently operates 89 weekly flights to major cities in the United States
and Canada — the highest frequency among Taiwanese carriers. By the end of
2025, the airline’s North American schedule will increase to 94 weekly flights.
Together with Southwest Airlines’ network, EVA Air passengers will gain access
to over 100 U.S. destinations, further strengthening the airline’s position as
a leading transpacific carrier.
