Delta Air Lines is introducing the next generation of
its Delta One suite on the Airbus A350-1000 while expanding its suite concept
to the Airbus A330-200 and A330-300 fleets. The initiative forms part of a
broader fleet investment program exceeding one billion US dollars and is
designed to strengthen Delta’s premium offering across long-haul routes.
The new A350-1000 aircraft, expected to enter service
in early 2027, will feature a cabin configuration with around 50 percent
premium seating. At the same time, Delta is modernising its A330-200 and
A330-300 aircraft with Delta One suites equipped with sliding privacy doors for
the first time on these aircraft types.
“Every time a customer boards a Delta flight, the
experience and surroundings should feel familiar — creating a sense of home and
comfort when you’re away,” said Mauricio Parise, Vice President of Brand
Experience. “That was the driving factor behind every intentional design
feature and investment we made in developing our brand new A350-1000
experience, which we extended through nose-to-tail upgrades of our
A330-200/300s and will continue to roll out across our fleet.”
New Delta One suite designed for privacy and rest
The new suite concept was developed through a two-year
design process based on extensive feedback from customers, SkyMiles members and
employees. The result is a redesigned seat featuring a fully flat bed measuring
more than six and a half feet in length, a new pillow-top cushion and improved
storage options for personal items.
“Customers are clear that comfort is their number one
priority when flying Delta One — 97 percent say Delta’s flat-bed is the reason
for choosing the cabin,” said Parise. “This led us to a new design that, when
combined with our current mattress pad and luxury bedding from Missoni, makes
for an incomparable sleep at 30,000 feet.”
Each suite on the A350-1000 includes a 24-inch
high-definition screen — the largest ever installed by Delta — along with
Bluetooth connectivity and wireless charging. A new self-service snack station
for Delta One passengers will also be introduced on the A350-1000 and refreshed
A330 aircraft.
Upgraded technology and comfort in every cabin
The cabin upgrades extend beyond business class. Every
seat across all cabins on both aircraft types will feature larger seatback
screens with 4K QLED resolution, Bluetooth connectivity, USB-C ports and
international power outlets. Memory-foam seat cushions are also standard
throughout the aircraft.
Delta’s modern cabin design, introduced in 2025, is
being progressively implemented across the fleet. Over the next five years, the
airline expects more than 800 aircraft to receive the new interiors.
The upgraded aircraft will also feature a
next-generation inflight entertainment system developed with Thales, offering
an expanded library of films, series, live content and interactive features.
Cabin lighting will adapt throughout the flight to support relaxation, dining
and adjustment to new time zones.
Delta introduced the first all-suite business-class
cabin among US airlines in 2017 and expects that by 2030 around 90 percent of
Delta One seats will be suites with sliding privacy doors.
