Delta TechOps is expanding its European presence
through a new long-term component care agreement with Jet2.com, the United
Kingdom’s third-largest airline. Under the contract, Delta’s Maintenance,
Repair and Overhaul (MRO) division will provide comprehensive mechanical and
avionics component services for Jet2.com’s aircraft fleets.
Driving global growth
The partnership reinforces Delta TechOps’ standing as
a trusted MRO provider for European carriers, showcasing the scale, reliability
and technical expertise that distinguish the organization in the global
aviation market.
“This agreement highlights the strength of our
component care capabilities and the trust that Delta TechOps has earned across
Europe,” said Basil Papayoti, Vice President of Commercial at Delta TechOps.
“With decades of experience supporting diverse fleets, Delta brings deep
technical knowledge to the Jet2.com partnership.”
The new contract builds upon an existing collaboration
that began in 2023, when Delta TechOps first provided component maintenance
services for Jet2.com.
“We’re proud to support Jet2.com as its fleet and
operations continue to grow,” Papayoti added. “Our team remains focused on
delivering dependable maintenance and the kind of technical expertise that
helps keep Jet2.com aircraft flying safely and efficiently.”
Expertise showcased at MRO Europe
The announcement was made during MRO Europe, the
region’s leading aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul exhibition, held
from October 14–16 in London. The event gathered industry leaders, suppliers
and experts to explore innovation, partnerships and the future of aircraft
support across Europe.
Delta TechOps also took part in high-level panel
discussions about aging fleets and engine maintenance, emphasizing how new
technologies are being integrated into MRO operations to support both legacy
and next-generation aircraft platforms.
“We continue to support a robust portfolio of legacy
engine customers while expanding our capabilities for next-generation
platforms,” said Christy Robinson, Director of Engine Maintenance at Delta
TechOps. “We’re not scaling back our legacy shops — we’re investing in them,
bringing legacy forward as we industrialize and prepare for the future.”
A legacy of excellence and a future of innovation
The partnership with Jet2.com marks the latest
milestone in Delta TechOps’ 25-year journey as a global MRO leader. Since
launching third-party maintenance services in 2000, TechOps has grown into one
of the world’s most respected providers, serving more than 150 customers across
six continents.
Delta TechOps is the only North American MRO certified
to service all three of the industry’s most advanced engine families — CFM LEAP,
Pratt & Whitney GTF, and Rolls-Royce Trent. This distinction underscores
the company’s commitment to innovation, investment in technical excellence, and
readiness to meet the evolving needs of modern fleets.
As Delta celebrates its 100th anniversary, this
expansion highlights the airline’s enduring legacy of innovation, reliability,
and global partnership — a century of aviation excellence with an eye firmly on
the future.
