Through
partnerships with governments and the latest technology, passengers benefit
from faster bag drop, touchless security, and streamlined international
connections.
Faster
bag drop for app users
Customers
flying from ATL, BOS, DTW and SEA who check in on the Delta app can now enjoy
expedited “App Bag Drop” service, skipping the line to print tags and drop
luggage. This feature will be expanded to all Delta hubs by the end of the
year.
Touchless
ID expands across the network
Delta’s
Touchless ID — facial-matching technology developed in partnership with TSA —
allows eligible SkyMiles and TSA PreCheck members to move through dedicated bag
drop and security lines without showing a physical ID. Processing times are
reduced dramatically: bag drop takes just 30 seconds on average, and security
clearance is up to 60% faster than standard TSA PreCheck. Touchless ID is
currently available at ATL, DTW, LAX, LGA, JFK, SLC, DCA and SEA, with
security-only service at DEN, LAS and PDX, and will expand to all hubs by the
end of 2025.
Faster
international connections
Travelers
arriving in Atlanta from Incheon (ICN) and London Heathrow (LHR) on select
Delta and Korean Air flights no longer need to reclaim and recheck their
baggage, saving up to 25 minutes. For LHR-ATL connections, Global Entry and
Mobile Passport Control users can bypass redundant TSA screenings, saving up to
45 minutes. These benefits will soon apply to all LHR-ATL flights, with further
routes planned.
Traveler
tools in the Delta app
The
Fly Delta app continues to evolve with features such as passport scanning for
international travel and destination-specific requirements, ensuring customers
are prepared before departure.
“Delta
connects the world like no other airline, and we are committed to making every
step of the journey smoother, smarter and more efficient,” said Greg Forbes,
Managing Director – Airport Experience. “These initiatives are important steps
in delivering on that promise.”
