Autograph Collection Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s
portfolio of distinctive hotel brands, has entered the Indian market with the
opening of Noormahal, Delhi NCR Karnal, Autograph Collection. The 176-room
property in the northern Indian state of Haryana marks the brand’s debut in the
country and becomes Marriott Bonvoy’s 19th brand operating in India.
Located along the historic Grand Trunk Road in Karnal,
the hotel blends architectural references to India’s royal heritage with
contemporary design. With more than 300,000 square feet of event space and
extensive leisure facilities, the property is positioned as a destination for
both leisure travellers and large-scale celebrations in North India.
Heritage-inspired design and immersive experiences
Autograph Collection hotels are known for individually
designed properties shaped by a strong sense of place and a distinct story. At
Noormahal, historical influences from Mughal, Rajput, Punjabi and Persian
traditions are reflected in both architecture and interior design.
“Autograph Collection Hotels are a product of clear
vision, designed with heart, and express a strong sense of place. Noormahal
embodies all of that, making it the ideal debut for the brand in India,” said
Cristiano Rinaldi, Chief Lodging Product & Services Officer, Asia Pacific
excluding China, Marriott International. “It’s a hotel where India’s regal
heritage meets contemporary artistry, creating rich immersive moments for the
modern design-conscious traveler. Noormahal is truly Exactly Like Nothing Else,
and we are thrilled to introduce the Autograph Collection experience to India’s
discerning travelers.”
The property houses an extensive collection of
artworks and historical artifacts that transform the hotel into what the
company describes as a living museum. Architectural elements such as domes,
ornamental arches and intricate jali patterns reference royal palaces, while
the interiors combine artisanal craftsmanship with contemporary spatial design.
Guests are also offered a signature “Autograph Moment”
inspired by royal court portraiture. Visitors can be photographed in a vintage
aesthetic reminiscent of historic royal portraits, creating a personalized
keepsake.
Strategic location between Delhi and northern India’s
cultural centres
The hotel is located on National Highway 44 between
Delhi and Kurukshetra, providing access to several major cities in northern
India including Delhi, Chandigarh, Ambala and Ludhiana. Chandigarh
International Airport and Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi are
both about two hours away, while Karnal Railway Station can be reached within
15 minutes.
Its location also positions the hotel as a gateway for
travellers heading to destinations such as Amritsar and Patiala in Punjab,
Shimla and Manali in Himachal Pradesh, and Dehradun and Mussoorie in
Uttarakhand.
Rooms and suites inspired by royal residences
Noormahal offers 176 guestrooms and suites designed to
combine traditional Indian aesthetics with modern comfort. Rich textiles,
bespoke furnishings and carefully designed layouts create an atmosphere
intended to evoke private royal residences.
Among the hotel’s signature accommodations are the
Raja Niwas and Khwabgah penthouses. These suites feature expansive living
areas, private terraces and dedicated butler service, reflecting a contemporary
interpretation of royal hospitality.
Four restaurants highlighting regional and
international cuisine
The property features four dining venues presenting a
mix of regional Indian and international cuisine. The Frontier Mail restaurant
focuses on culinary traditions of the North-Western frontier, featuring
slow-cooked dishes and recipes influenced by historic trade routes and royal
kitchens.
Colonel Saab serves all-day dining with modern
interpretations of Indian classics alongside international dishes. The Polo Bar
offers cocktails in a setting inspired by the elegance of polo culture, while
The Cake Factory specializes in handcrafted desserts and pastries.
Wellness facilities and outdoor activities
The hotel’s wellness and recreation offering includes
a spa with curated therapies such as the Aroma Bliss treatment, a fitness
centre and an outdoor swimming pool. Additional facilities include a children’s
play zone and outdoor sports and adventure activities such as tennis,
pickleball, ziplining and rock climbing.
Large-scale venues for weddings and events
With more than 300,000 square feet of event space, the
hotel is designed to host large weddings, corporate events and cultural
celebrations. Outdoor lawns such as Rani ka Bagh and Raja ka Bagh are
complemented by ornate indoor venues including Sheesh Mahal and Darbar Hall.
The scale of the event facilities positions the
property as a major destination for large celebrations across North India.
Mahesh Singh Jasrotia, General Manager of Noormahal,
Delhi NCR Karnal, Autograph Collection, said the hotel aims to offer
experiences rooted in the region’s culture and hospitality traditions. “Our
vision is for Noormahal, Delhi NCR Karnal, Autograph Collection, to be
intimately connected to North India’s surroundings, offering inspiring, dynamic
experiences through refined hospitality and bespoke service. Every detail, from
our grand venues to culinary offerings, is designed to create memorable moments
and elevate the guest experience.”
The hotel was envisioned by Colonel Manbeer Singh
Choudhary and Mrs. Binny Choudhary, descendants of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, and
seeks to combine India’s royal legacy with contemporary hospitality and design.
