Atlas Ocean Voyages has announced the construction of
its first-ever luxury expedition sailing yacht, marking a major milestone in
the company’s continued growth. The new Atlas-class vessel, Atlas Adventurer,
represents a next-generation platform designed to expand the line’s global
reach while deepening its commitment to environmentally conscious exploration.
A new chapter for expedition cruising
Purpose-built for worldwide discovery, Atlas
Adventurer is an eco-focused exploration yacht that blends advanced marine
technology with elevated comfort. Equipped with three carbon masts and solid
sails, the vessel is designed to enhance operational efficiency and enable
zero-emission cruising when wind and sea conditions allow, offering a quiet,
low-impact presence on the water. Hybrid propulsion and advanced marine systems
reflect Atlas Ocean Voyages’ evolving approach to modern expedition travel.
Engineered for global exploration
The 26,000-gross-ton yacht measures 690 feet in length
and features dual-fuel engines combined with electric-hybrid propulsion. A
9-megawatt marine battery system enables high performance even in light wind
conditions and supports near-silent operation under sail. Technical features
include zero-speed fin stabilizers, vertical fin stabilizers, a reinforced hull
and Ice Class 1B (Polar Category C) capability, allowing confident navigation
across a wide range of destinations, from polar regions to remote tropical
ports.
“This new Atlas-class sailing yacht represents the
next step in our growth,” said James A. Rodriguez, President and CEO of Atlas
Ocean Voyages. “It allows us to expand our destination footprint into regions
our guests have been asking us for, while further solidifying Atlas’ position
within the luxury expedition cruise category. As our brand continues to evolve,
this vessel is a powerful expression of where we are headed: thoughtful growth,
intentional design and deeper global exploration.”
Expanded onboard experience
Designed to accommodate up to 400 guests, supported by
a crew of 275, Atlas Adventurer will feature all-suite accommodations across
every category. Compared with the current fleet, the yacht will offer increased
space and a broader range of amenities while preserving the boutique
hospitality that defines Atlas Ocean Voyages.
Onboard facilities will include seven dining venues,
among them specialty restaurants and a new culinary studio dedicated to
hands-on learning and destination-inspired programming. Five lounges, multiple
cocktail bars and two outdoor bars will provide varied social spaces. The yacht
will also feature an expanded fitness and wellness center, a large swimming
pool and dedicated expedition infrastructure, including Zodiacs, luxury
motorboats and a marina platform with an ocean pool for water-based exploration.
Vision of innovation and sustainability
Mario Ferreira, Chairman, Founder and Owner of Mystic
Invest Holding, the parent company of Atlas Ocean Voyages, described the new
vessel as a bridge between maritime heritage and future technology. “With Atlas
Adventurer, we are introducing a new generation of luxury expedition sailing
yachts. This vessel connects the wind mastery of the 15th century with the
solid sails and electric propulsion of the 21st century. Designed to meet
future zero-emission port requirements, it can navigate silently and access
some of the world’s most exclusive small ports,” he said. The combination of
carbon-fiber masts, solid sails and a powerful battery system underscores the
company’s focus on sustainable and innovative tourism.
Global itineraries from 2028
From late 2028, Atlas Adventurer will operate
expedition voyages across Asia, including Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam,
Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, as well as Africa, with
destinations such as the Seychelles, Madagascar, Tanzania, Kenya, Mozambique
and South Africa. These itineraries will further extend the company’s global
footprint while continuing to position Atlas Ocean Voyages at the forefront of
luxury expedition cruising to remote destinations.
Early access and next steps
Atlas Ocean Voyages has opened Early Access Priority
reservations, allowing guests to register interest in the inaugural season with
a USD 2,000 deposit. Additional details on suite designs, onboard experiences,
dining concepts and itineraries will be announced in the coming months.
