IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s
leading hospitality groups, has announced a milestone development with the
signing of its first standalone InterContinental branded residences. The InterContinental
Residences Bangkok Asoke will redefine luxury living in Thailand’s capital city
when it opens in 2029.
A New Era of Luxury Urban Living
Located on Soi Sukhumvit 16 in the prestigious Asoke
district, the project will comprise 88 exclusive residential units within a
newly constructed architectural landmark in the heart of Bangkok’s Central
Business District. Surrounded by Grade-A offices, high-end shopping malls, and
renowned dining venues, the property will offer residents a seamless blend of
sophistication, convenience, and cosmopolitan lifestyle.
Strategic Collaboration with CG Capital
The project is being developed in partnership with CG
Capital, a subsidiary of Central Group, one of Thailand’s largest real estate
and retail conglomerates. The collaboration signifies IHG’s entry into the global
standalone branded residential market, a sector experiencing rapid growth among
modern luxury consumers seeking the prestige of a hotel brand in a residential
setting.
Rajit Sukumaran, Senior Vice President & Managing
Director, East Asia & Pacific (EAPAC), IHG Hotels & Resorts, stated:
“This is a momentous signing for IHG, introducing our
world-renowned InterContinental brand into both the global standalone branded
residential market and Bangkok’s residential landscape. Thailand leads
Asia-Pacific in branded residential projects, and partnering with CG Capital
allows us to bring this vision to life in one of the region’s most dynamic
markets.”
Sukumaran added that the development complements IHG’s
growing regional portfolio of InterContinental residences, including projects
in Phu Quoc and Halong Bay (Vietnam) as well as Hua Hin (Thailand).
Designed for Modern Lifestyles
InterContinental Residences Bangkok Asoke will feature
a mix of two-, three-, and four-bedroom units ranging from approximately 139 to
547 square metres, offering flexible layouts and refined interiors. Facilities
will include a 25-metre swimming pool, hot and cold plunge pools, a fully
equipped fitness centre, yoga and pilates studio, residents’ lounge, co-working
and meeting spaces, and dedicated rooms for art, games, and private functions.
Khun Phoom Chirathivat, Managing Partner & Co-Head
of CG Capital, commented:
“We are delighted to collaborate with IHG on our
standalone residential project in Sukhumvit – one of Bangkok’s most desirable
neighbourhoods. InterContinental Residences Bangkok Asoke offers a rare
opportunity to own freehold residences in a prime location, supported by
world-class service and amenities.”
Strengthening IHG’s Residential Expansion
The launch adds momentum to IHG’s rapidly expanding
branded residential portfolio, which now includes over 30 developments
worldwide, either open or under construction across major cities and resort
destinations.
The InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand
currently operates 51 hotels across East Asia & the Pacific, including eight
in Thailand (Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Koh Samui, Phuket, Khao Yai, and Chiang
Mai). The regional pipeline includes 22 additional properties, three of which
are in Thailand. Globally, InterContinental spans 231 hotels in 70 countries,
with 105 more under development.
With InterContinental Residences Bangkok Asoke, IHG
underscores its commitment to redefining modern luxury living — where heritage
meets innovation, and home feels like a world-class hotel.
