Star Alliance has again been recognised as the World’s
Leading Airline Alliance at the 2025 World Travel Awards, marking its sixth
straight victory. The award, announced at the Grand Final Gala Ceremony in
Bahrain, reflects the Alliance’s commitment to creating smoother journeys
across booking, airport processes, connections, and loyalty experiences.
CEO Theo Panagiotoulias said the honour underscores
the trust of travellers and industry peers:
“Our focus has always been on making customer journeys
feel effortless, and our lounges bring the experience to life. This recognition
belongs to the teams across member airlines and our headquarters, and we are
deeply grateful to our customers for their continued support.”
Earlier this year, the Star Alliance Lounge at Los
Angeles International Airport was named North America’s Leading Airport Lounge
for the sixth year in a row, acknowledging its consistently refined design and
comfort.
Now in its 32nd year, the World Travel Awards
celebrate excellence across travel, tourism, and hospitality. Winners are
chosen through a global vote by industry professionals and consumer travel
buyers.
Graham E. Cooke, Founder of the World Travel Awards,
congratulated Star Alliance, noting its “unparalleled focus on delivering
seamless, world-class travel experiences.”
Several member airlines also earned individual awards,
including honours for World’s Leading Airline to Asia and World’s Leading
Airline to Europe, underscoring the collective strength of the Alliance
worldwide.
