The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has
welcomed Messe Berlin Americas as a Regional Member, marking a new partnership
aimed at strengthening collaboration across the travel and tourism industry in
the Americas.
The membership comes ahead of the launch of ITB
Americas, the newest event in Messe Berlin's global ITB portfolio and the first
travel trade show to unite North America, Central America, South America and
the Caribbean on a single B2B platform.
New platform for the Americas
Organised by Messe Berlin Americas, the regional
subsidiary of Messe Berlin, ITB Americas is designed to connect destinations,
tourism boards, buyers, travel companies, hospitality brands, airlines,
technology providers, MICE professionals and industry leaders from across the
continent.
The inaugural edition of ITB Americas 2026 is expected
to attract more than 5,000 participants from over 42 countries and regions,
creating new opportunities for business development, networking and knowledge
exchange throughout the Americas.
Strengthening industry collaboration
By joining WTTC as a Regional Member, Messe Berlin
Americas underlines its commitment to working closely with leading tourism
organisations to support the long-term development of the travel and tourism
sector across the region.
Gloria Guevara, President & CEO of WTTC, welcomed
the new partnership, saying the organisation plays an important role in
fostering business connections, knowledge exchange and collaboration throughout
the Americas.
"We are delighted to welcome Messe Berlin
Americas as a Regional Member. We look forward to working together to connect
industry leaders, support regional growth and advance opportunities for the
sector throughout the continent," she said.
Milestone ahead of ITB Americas debut
Vicente Salas Hesselbach, Vice President and Managing
Director Americas at Messe Berlin, described the membership as an important
milestone for both Messe Berlin Americas and ITB Americas.
"As we prepare to launch the inaugural edition of
ITB Americas, we are committed to building a platform that brings together the
travel industry across the entire continent, fostering meaningful business
connections, knowledge exchange and long-term collaboration," he said.
He added that joining WTTC reinforces the company's
commitment to helping shape a stronger, more innovative and more sustainable
future for travel and tourism throughout the Americas.
With ITB Americas, Messe Berlin is expanding its
internationally recognised ITB event portfolio and aims to establish a leading
business platform connecting the travel and tourism industry across the Western
Hemisphere.
