Delta Air Lines is teaming up with Crunchyroll, the
world’s largest dedicated anime streaming platform, to offer passengers a
first-of-its-kind entertainment experience in the skies. Through this new
partnership, SkyMiles Members can now log in to Delta Sync Wi-Fi and unlock 24
hours of free access to Crunchyroll’s full catalog – more than 50,000 episodes
and 2,000 unique titles – no payment required. In addition, curated anime
favorites are debuting on Delta’s seatback screens fleetwide.
Anime at 30,000 feet
Whether you’re an anime aficionado or simply
anime-curious, the partnership brings Japanese animation to a whole new
audience. Starting this month, selected titles curated by Crunchyroll will be
featured on Delta’s 165,000+ seatback screens, the largest in-flight
entertainment network among U.S. airlines, and within Delta Sync Wi-Fi, now
available on over 940 aircraft.
Passengers can enjoy episodes from hit series such as
the fantasy epic Black Clover, the heartfelt slice-of-life My Roommate is a Cat,
the romantic comedy Horimiya, the beloved Fruits Basket, and the award-winning Solo
Leveling, named Anime of the Year at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
“Every Delta flight is an opportunity to discover
something new,” said Sarah Downs, Managing Director of In-Flight Entertainment
Engagement & Optimization at Delta. “The world of anime is rich with
storytelling and emotion, and Crunchyroll brings that to life in a way that’s
perfect for travel. This partnership reflects our commitment to offering
diverse, world-class entertainment for every customer.”
Exclusive perks for SkyMiles Members
After sampling anime on the seatback screens, SkyMiles
Members can log in to Delta Sync Wi-Fi on their personal devices and enjoy 24
hours of unlimited streaming across Crunchyroll’s extensive catalog. Access is
complimentary and available both during the flight and after landing (terms and
exclusions apply).

of Delta’s broader vision to build the world’s most loved loyalty program
through personalized offers, partnerships, and exclusive cultural experiences.
A partnership celebrating global culture
Once considered niche, anime has become a global
cultural phenomenon. According to Crunchyroll’s latest survey, nearly half of
Gen Z fans view anime as an important part of their identity, while over half
of Millennial and Gen X fans have stayed loyal to anime for more than a decade.
With 17 million paying subscribers, Crunchyroll remains the leading destination
for anime fans around the world.
“There’s nothing better on a long flight than
immersing yourself in anime’s rich storytelling and imagination,” said Rahul
Purini, President of Crunchyroll. “Fans can dive deep into a favorite series or
sample a bit of everything—from action to romance to adventure. We’re thrilled
to bring this universe to Delta customers and reach new heights together.”
Crunchyroll joins YouTube and Uber as part of Delta’s
expanding lineup of digital and lifestyle partnerships. Together with
entertainment partners such as Paramount+, these collaborations are redefining
what it means to travel – offering customers not only a flight, but an
experience that connects them with global culture, creativity, and community.
