Condor to launch daily nonstop flights between Frankfurt and Chicago

Condor will add Chicago to its North American network in summer 2027. From 14 May to 12 September, the airline plans to operate a daily nonstop service between Frankfurt Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

The new route will connect Condor’s main hub with one of the largest aviation and business centres in the United States. It is designed to serve both leisure and corporate travellers while also providing onward connections across North America and Europe.

Chicago expands Condor’s US network

Chicago is one of the largest cities in the United States and an important centre for commerce, finance, industry and culture. The city is also home to one of the country’s largest German-American communities.

As a major North American aviation hub, Chicago O’Hare offers extensive domestic connections. The city itself attracts visitors with its architecture, museums, music scene, restaurants and location on Lake Michigan. It also serves as a gateway to destinations across the US Midwest.

“Chicago is an ideal addition to our North American network and a market with significant potential for both leisure and business travel,” said Peter Gerber, CEO of Condor. “With this new service, we are providing our guests with convenient access to one of the most important metropolitan regions in the United States while also offering travellers from Chicago seamless connections to Europe via our Frankfurt hub.”

Connections to Europe via Frankfurt

The route will provide travellers from the United States with access to Condor’s European network during the summer season. Passengers from Germany will benefit from a nonstop connection when travelling to visit relatives, friends or business partners in the greater Chicago area.

Via Frankfurt, customers will also be able to connect to destinations served by Condor and its partner airlines in Europe and other parts of the world.

Condor moves to Frankfurt Airport’s Terminal 3

With the start of the 2027 summer schedule, Condor plans to move its operations to Frankfurt Airport’s new Terminal 3. The terminal is expected to offer modern infrastructure, shorter walking distances and more efficient passenger processes.

The airline says connecting passengers in particular will benefit from simplified transfers between long-haul and European flights.

Airbus A330neo deployed on the route

Condor will operate the Frankfurt–Chicago service with the Airbus A330neo, the flagship of its long-haul fleet. The aircraft offers three cabin classes as well as onboard entertainment and Wi-Fi.

Business Class features fully lie-flat seats measuring up to 1.99 metres and direct aisle access from every seat. Premium Economy provides additional legroom and enhanced onboard amenities.

The A330neo also consumes less fuel and produces lower carbon emissions than the previous generation of long-haul aircraft. Tickets are available through Condor and travel agencies.
