Shareholders of Deutsche Lufthansa AG approved all
agenda items by a broad majority at the company’s 73rd Annual General Meeting.
According to the airline group, 51.33 percent of the company’s share capital
was represented at the meeting, which was attended by around 1,600
shareholders.
Among the key decisions were the approval of the
proposed dividend payment, the discharge of the Executive Board and Supervisory
Board for the 2025 financial year, and changes to the Supervisory Board
leadership.
Shareholders approve dividend and board appointments
The approved dividend amounts to 0.33 euros per share.
Shareholders also voted in favour of the proposed appointments to the
Supervisory Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG.
Newly elected members include Dr. Johannes Teyssen,
former Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of E.ON SE, and Wolfgang Nickl,
member of the Executive Board and CFO of Bayer AG. Karl Gernandt, Chairman of
the Board of Directors of Kühne Holding AG, was re-elected to the Supervisory
Board.
All resolutions received strong backing from
shareholders, according to the company.
Lufthansa bids farewell to Karl-Ludwig Kley
A central moment of the meeting was the farewell to
Dr. Karl-Ludwig Kley, who had served on Lufthansa’s Supervisory Board since
2013 and as Chairman since 2017.
During his speech, Lufthansa Group CEO Carsten Spohr
thanked Kley for his leadership during years marked by transformation and
crisis management.
“You have shaped our transformation. Our shared path
to success, with its highs, lows, achievements, and crises,” said Spohr. “And
especially during crises, you have always been a unique source of support for
me personally.”
According to Lufthansa, shareholders gave Kley a
standing ovation as he stepped down from the Supervisory Board.
Johannes Teyssen elected new Supervisory Board
Chairman
Following the conclusion of the Annual General
Meeting, the newly constituted Supervisory Board elected Dr. Johannes Teyssen
as its new Chairman.
Teyssen previously led German energy company E.ON SE
as Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO and is considered one of Germany’s
most experienced corporate executives.
