The
Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has unveiled the highly anticipated
“Workation Paradise Throughout Thailand Season 2” project, spotlighting a new
way to blend work and travel with cutting-edge Pop-up Workspaces and the
exciting “100-Baht Voucher” promotion. The programme is scheduled to run from
December 2024 through March 2025.
Ms.
Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, stated “Workation is an emerging
trend as flexible working models allow professionals to work from anywhere.
This project caters to Digital Nomads and Remote Workers while stimulating
weekday travel. I am confident it will establish Thailand as a leading
workation destination, driving tourism revenue and economic activity.”
With
a focus on high-season tourism (December through April), the initiative
underscores Thailand’s commitment to innovative travel offerings and sustained
economic growth.
Enhancing
Thailand’s Tourism Ecosystem
Mr.
Kittipong Prapattong, Deputy Governor for Digitalisation, Research and
Development, added, “The Workation Paradise Throughout Thailand Season 2
project fosters weekday travel and promotes extended stays and increased
spending on tourism-related services. We deeply appreciate the collaboration
from all industry partners and anticipate this initiative will significantly
benefit local economies, drive job creation, and support Thailand’s tourism
goals.”
Key
Features of the Project
The
“Workation Paradise Throughout Thailand Season 2” builds on four years of
success under the Workation Thailand campaign, first launched in 2020. This
initiative continues to recognise the transformative impact of combining work
and travel, aiming to stimulate weekday tourism, extend travellers’ stays, and
boost spending on tourism services. Encouraging professionals to explore
Thailand’s iconic destinations while working remotely, the campaign further
underscores the country’s position as a top-tier workation destination.
Exciting
Activities for Season 2
This
year’s programme introduces an exciting new feature: Pop-up Workspaces,
portable offices installed at five strategic locations across Thailand’s
regions – Siam (Bangkok), Central Pattaya (Chon Buri), Khao Yai National Park
(Nakhon Ratchasima), Ang Kaew at Chiang Mai University (Chiang Mai), and Ko
Pha-ngan (Surat Thani).
These
Pop-up Workspaces provide an ideal setting for work in a relaxed environment,
equipped with essential amenities such as online meeting screens, printers,
electricity, internet, and ergonomic workstations. Offered free of charge, the
spaces are designed to meet the needs of Digital Nomads and Remote Workers,
further complemented by local staff providing on-site assistance.
Enhancing
its appeal, the programme features the ‘100-Baht Voucher’ promotion,
which offers travellers significant savings on premium services. The vouchers
are available for a range of categories, including flights with AirAsia, luxury
accommodations like Sala Khao Yai, Banyan Tree Phuket, and Pullman Khao Lak Resort
and dining experiences at brands like Coffee Bean by Dao, Black Canyon and
Starbucks Coffee. Additionally, vouchers for popular attractions such as
Columbia Pictures Aquaverse and Vana Nava Water Jungle are also available.
Travellers
can purchase these vouchers for only 100 Baht each via the project’s website,
with four rounds scheduled on the 20th of each month from December 2024 to
March 2025. Exclusive pre-sale rounds will be offered on 1 February and 1 March
2025 for users of the Pop-up Workspaces, enhancing the benefits for workation
enthusiasts.
Shaping
the Future of Work and Travel
This
campaign highlights Thailand’s innovative approach to tourism, offering a
unique blend of professional convenience and leisure. The initiative showcases
Thailand’s readiness to meet the evolving needs of modern travellers, making it
a premier destination for Digital Nomads and Remote Workers.
