At the PATA Gold Awards 2025, both the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) received top honours for their outstanding contributions to sustainability and marketing in the Asia-Pacific travel industry.
DASTA received the prestigious Grand Award for Sustainability & Social Responsibility for its Ban Na Ton Chan Homestay Community Enterprise, a model for community-based cultural preservation. This project highlights long-term engagement and a deeply rooted approach to sustainability, placing local culture at the centre of tourism development.
In addition to the Grand Award, DASTA earned five Gold Awards in the same category, recognising its achievements in climate action, inclusive tourism, women and youth empowerment, and destination resilience. These accolades reinforce Thailand’s role as a leader in developing tourism that benefits communities while protecting cultural and natural heritage.
TAT was honoured with two Gold Awards in the Marketing category. Its “Love Season” campaign won Best Integrated Digital Marketing Campaign (Destination) for its effective digital strategy and emotionally engaging storytelling that promoted romantic travel within Thailand. The second award, for Best Travel Photography, was given to “The Hidden Romance of Sam Roi Yot”, a striking visual portrayal of one of Thailand’s tranquil coastal regions.
Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of TAT, said:
“We are truly honoured to receive continued recognition from PATA for our efforts to promote Thai tourism with both creativity and care. These awards are a testament to our team’s dedication to producing impactful campaigns that connect with travellers. We also warmly congratulate DASTA on its remarkable success in advancing sustainable tourism. Their achievements bring pride to Thailand’s entire tourism sector.”
These awards come on the heels of other international accolades, including major wins at the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2025. A full list of awards highlighting Thai destinations and initiatives is available on the TAT Awards page.
The PATA Gold Awards 2025 Gala Dinner will be held on 27 August during the PATA Travel Mart 2025 in Bangkok, where all winners will be officially honoured. The winning projects will also be showcased at the Mart, giving regional delegates the chance to explore some of Asia Pacific’s most innovative and inspiring tourism initiatives.
