The Tourism Authority of
Thailand (TAT) has concluded the Thailand Golf Travel Mart (TGTM) 2025, held
from 15–17 September in Khao Yai, Nakhon Ratchasima. The annual B2B platform
highlights Thailand’s position as a world-class sports and wellness destination
while advancing sustainable and responsible tourism in line with TAT’s
long-term goals.
A focus beyond golf
“The Thailand Golf Travel Mart
is about more than golf. It is about creating sustainable golf tourism
experiences, advancing sports and wellness travel, and building lasting
business partnerships,” said Mr. Kittipong Prapattong, TAT Deputy Governor for
Digital Research and Development. “For many participants, it is also a first
opportunity to discover Khao Yai—one of Thailand’s most scenic golf
destinations—where world-class courses, wellness activities, and the spirit of
the Land of Smiles can be enjoyed on and off the greens.”
Global participation
This year’s TGTM brought
together 70 leading golf holiday specialists from 17 countries with 67 Thai
businesses, including golf courses, tour operators, hotels, and service
providers. Over 2,000 business appointments were scheduled, alongside the
participation of 30 international media representatives.
The three-day program
featured:
·
Networking Golf & Welcome Reception at
Rancho Charnvee Resort (Sept. 15)
·
Opening Ceremony, TGTM Talk, and product
briefings at Toscana Valley Country Club (Sept. 16), followed by business
meetings and the TAT Night Reception at Lamaya Khaoyai
·
Networking Golf Tournament & course
inspection hosted by the Thai Golf Course Association (Sept. 17)
Showcasing Khao Yai’s
potential
Delegates experienced Khao
Yai’s acclaimed golf courses, luxury resorts, and natural landscapes,
positioning the area as an emerging golf tourism hub. Complementary
activities—including shopping, spa experiences, and Thai cuisine—demonstrated
golf tourism’s role in enhancing visitor spending.
A sustainable approach
Reflecting its responsible
tourism agenda, TGTM 2025 implemented eco-friendly event practices: minimizing
single-use plastics, encouraging energy efficiency, and spotlighting golf
products tied to community-based and environmentally friendly travel. These
measures underscore TAT’s commitment to reducing environmental impact and
inspiring delegates to adopt sustainable practices in their businesses.
Strengthening Thailand’s golf
profile
TGTM 2025 is expected to reach
1.5 million people globally and achieve over 80% satisfaction among Thai
operators. The event aims to reaffirm Thailand’s reputation as a premier golf
and wellness destination, inspire new travel itineraries, and strengthen
industry commitments to sustainability, social responsibility, and community
engagement.
With more than 250 golf
courses across the country, Thailand continues to attract international players
and fans. Prestigious tournaments such as the Honda LPGA Thailand, alongside
youth golf development and global academy training, further secure the
country’s place on the international golf map.
