These days, there’s a lot that people are taking into consideration when planning a trip, and it goes beyond which locale they should head to first. More now than ever, travelers care about leaving a destination better than they found it. The Hilton 2022 global trends report showed that 86% of travelers want to travel more sustainably, but only half of that number manage to do so often. Given this shift, Hilton is making it easier for travelers to take an eco-friendly journey, especially if they aren’t sure where to start in terms of traveling more sustainably. From bike sharing to soap recycling to a new electric vehicle (EV) search filter, guests can feel better about taking care of the world around them while they take time for themselves. It’s all part of Hilton’s Travel With Purpose mission, to double the investment in social impact and cut environmental impact in half by 2030.
From the moment guests search for a hotel to check-out, eco-friendly trips are now more attainable. At Hilton, a new search attribute helps EV owners find and book hotels with charging stations to power up their electric vehicles, so guests can be certain that their car will recharge while they do. More than 1,400 Hilton properties around the world offer EV charging stations, as well as other eco-friendly additions that help travelers leave a smaller carbon footprint on their next adventure. Whether located on a beautiful beach or in a bustling big city, these Hilton properties make it easy to plan an eco-friendly trip in 2022.
Home2 Suites by Hilton Silver Spring
With its proximity to Washington, DC and the University of Maryland, Silver Spring is a convenient place to stay near the nation’s capital. Home2 Suites by Hilton Silver Spring is one of the few LEED Platinum hotels in the country and has gone far beyond the certification to create a sustainable guest experience since it opened in 2019. Not only does it boast eco-friendly initiatives, like solar power and EV charging, but the rooms are also outfitted with living areas and kitchens so guests feel at home while on the road. An indoor pool and fitness center means wellness is within reach, and the outdoor lounge with a firepit is the perfect place to unwind after a long day. In addition, six electric vehicle charging stations have been installed to accommodate guests, staff and non-guests alike, with plans to add more in the future.
Hampton Inn & Suites Miami/Brickell-Downtown

The LEED Silver certified property is oriented east to west to minimize sun penetration, and parking spaces equipped with four electric vehicle charging stations are available 24 hours a day. After enjoying the complimentary hot breakfast, guests can visit the rooftop pool to soak up some rays and relax before a day of exploring.
Hilton Tokyo Bay
Situated next to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Hilton Tokyo Bay boasts easy access to the neighboring theme parks, stunning Mount Fuji views and close proximity to bustling Tokyo. Not only is the location ideal, but also the property’s sustainability initiatives make guests feel good about booking a stay. The property has also installed EV chargers so that guests and staff alike can recharge their electric vehicles while working, dining or sleeping. Between the fairytale-themed rooms and the Mount Fuji views, Hilton Tokyo Bay will bring joy to kids and kids at heart.
Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel
There are few places more magical than the Eternal City, and Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel is a luxurious location to call home base. Green space can have many mental health benefits, so the property’s 15 acres of private park helps guests relax and unwind when they’re not out exploring. Not only is Rome Cavalieri home to the city’s first and only 3-star Michelin restaurant, La Pergola, but it has also partnered with a local food waste reduction program to make its on-site food and beverage programs more sustainable. As a plus, anyone exploring Italy by car can recharge their electric vehicle at one of the property’s EV charging stations so they can embark on the next leg of their journey.

Canopy by Hilton Paris Trocadero
Canopy by Hilton’s first French hotel, Canopy by Hilton Paris Trocadero, which opened in 2021, draws inspiration from Trocadero’s rich history and incorporates thoughtful touches from the industrial past of the 1930s building. Guests can traverse Paris in a less industrial way thanks to free bikes and three electric vehicle charging stations, promoting a cleaner, greener exploration of the city. Located in the iconic 16tharrondissement, a stone’s throw from the Eiffel Tower, guests can drive, cycle or walk their way around the city, or take in the breath-taking views from the hotels’ panoramic rooftop bar.
