According
to Turespaña, the number of workers in tourism-related activities rose by
34,347 year-on-year.
Employment
with permanent contracts grew by 2.7%, marking the fifteenth consecutive
quarterly increase. Notably, the tourism sector’s seasonality rate remained at
14.7%, lower than the national average of 15.1%. The number of full-time
employees rose by 5%, while part-time employment declined by 3.5%.
Madrid
and Andalusia led the regional growth with increases of 10.3% and 9.5%
respectively, while employment decreased in Catalonia (-5.8%) and Valencia
(-2.7%). The hospitality sector saw mixed results, with a 1% decrease in
employment driven by a decline in food and beverage services (-2.8%) despite a
5.7% rise in accommodation jobs. Travel agencies saw a significant increase of
21.9%, while passenger transport jobs grew by 3.4%.
The
tourism industry continues to demonstrate resilience, with growing numbers of
full-time and permanent positions reflecting long-term stability.
