IHG
Hotels & Resorts (IHG), global leader in hospitality, introduces its
midscale conversion brand, Garner hotels, to the UK. Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury marks
another great milestone for IHG’s new midscale conversion brand, which has seen
rapid growth since its global launch in 2023.
The
hotel, operated by KRO Hospitality and located in Northern England, joins a
growing portfolio of Garner hotels in Europe. It also follows IHG and NOVUM
Hospitality’s long-term agreement, to bring more than 50 Garner hotels to
Germany.
Each
Garner hotel is purposefully different, and designed to deliver a relaxed and
comfortable experience for guests who value genuine human connection over
luxury. With convenient locations, comfortable beds, free Wi-Fi, bean-to-cup
coffee, and snacks available at the Garner Shop – the brand is focused on
delivering the all-important basics guests want from a stay.
Garner
Hotel Preston Samlesbury brings to life the brand’s design hallmark “Made with
Character” and is a contemporary hotel with 80 stylish guestrooms spread across
three floors. At reception, a signature Garner feature wall showcases Sketches
of Humanity, a distinctive welcome moment that reflects how Garner hotels
brings people together while celebrating the diversity of the brand’s guests
and properties.
Joanna
Kurowska, VP and Managing Director, UK & Ireland at IHG Hotels &
Resorts, said: "I’m thrilled to welcome Garner hotels to the UK and
Ireland, IHG’s largest market in Europe. Its arrival sees us strengthen our
midscale portfolio further by bringing a new brand to the market to join our
growing Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express brands.”
We
proudly partner with owners who share our commitment to investing in
exceptional hotels that foster long-term support for the local community. That
is why we are delighted to open our first Garner hotels alongside KRO
Hospitality."
"We
are proud to open the doors of the first Garner hotels property in the
UK," said Neelesh Chaturvedi, General Manager of Garner Hotel Preston
Samlesbury. "Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury is the perfect location for
guests seeking quality stays at an affordable price point –whether they are
exploring Preston and or in need of a quick overnight rest. I’m confident our
unique blend of style, service, and value under the brand’s ethos of ‘easy
going stays that get you on your way’ will be welcomed by guests.”
Dining
options include the Village Brasserie, offering locally sourced British
cuisine, while the Lounge Bar providing a relaxed atmosphere for socialising or
unwinding. For business travellers, the hotel features several versatile
conference and events spaces ideal for meetings, seminars, and gatherings. A
well-equipped Fitness Suite is also available for guests seeking to maintain
their wellness routines during their stay.
Conveniently
located close to the M6’s junction 31, Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury offers
easy access to Preston, Manchester, Liverpool, the Lake District, and the
popular seaside resort of Blackpool. The hotel benefits from proximity to key
business hubs such as Samlesbury Aerodrome, home to BAE Systems, and is also
within reach of major employers like Lancashire County Council and the
University of Central Lancashire, making it the ideal stay for business
travellers and group bookings.
The
hotel joins IHG’s global portfolio of more than 117 open or pipeline Garner hotels since the
launch of the brand in 2023. In Europe, alongside 56 Garner hotels set to open
in Northern Europe, IHG has announced the first signings in Turkiye and Italy.
As
part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, guests of Garner hotels can enjoy the perks
of the industry-leading IHG One Rewards loyalty programme,
including the ability to earn and use points toward Rewards Nights and
Milestone Rewards such as late check out and food and drink.
