Holland America Line has announced a special
collaboration with Pendleton Woolen Mills, unveiling a custom-designed,
Alaska-inspired throw blanket. Timed to Alaska Statehood Day and the lead-up to
America’s 250th anniversary, the limited-edition blanket reflects Pendleton’s
tradition of craftsmanship and Holland America Line’s deep roots in the region.
Designed exclusively for Holland America Line, the
numbered throw will be available for purchase on board ships sailing in Alaska
in 2026. The design captures the spirit of the “Last Frontier” with a panoramic
depiction of mountains, forests and skies, complemented by iconic wildlife such
as a moose, whale and eagle beneath the Northern Lights. The color palette
features deep ocean blues, Holland America Line’s signature orange and natural
tones.
“As we look ahead to America’s 250th anniversary, we
are proud to bring together two American heritage brands with a shared
connection to Alaska,” said Kacy Cole, chief marketing officer of Holland
America Line. Bob Christnacht, EVP of sales and marketing at Pendleton, added
that the collaboration reflects the company’s legacy of weaving storied
landscapes into timeless designs.
Holland America Line has been sailing in Alaska since
1947, longer than the state has been part of the U.S., and remains a pioneer in
the region with extensive cruise and land-based programs, including itineraries
to Denali National Park and the Yukon.
The Pendleton collaboration is part of a broader
series of initiatives marking America’s 250th anniversary. Additional
partnerships, limited-edition offerings and themed sailings will be introduced
in the run-up to July 4, 2026.
