Emirates will introduce its Airbus A350 on the
Dubai–Kuala Lumpur route from September 1, 2026, bringing the airline’s
latest-generation cabin product to Malaysia for the first time. The aircraft
will operate daily flights EK344 and EK345, complementing Emirates’ existing
A380 and retrofitted Boeing 777 services to the Malaysian capital.
The deployment will also increase the availability of
Premium Economy between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur. Together, the new A350 and the
retrofitted Boeing 777 operating flights EK346 and EK347 will offer 52 Premium
Economy seats per day.
The introduction comes in the year Emirates celebrates
three decades of operations to Kuala Lumpur.
Three Emirates aircraft types in Kuala Lumpur
“This year marks three decades since Emirates launched
services to Kuala Lumpur. For 30 years, we have continued to strengthen our
presence in Malaysia and invest in our products, ensuring our customers enjoy
an exceptional travel experience at every stage of their journey,” said Saeed
Mubarak, Emirates Country Manager in Malaysia.
Following the introduction of the retrofitted Boeing
777 on EK346 and EK347, the A350 gives passengers travelling from Malaysia
access to all three of Emirates’ flagship aircraft types: the Airbus A350,
Airbus A380 and Boeing 777.
“We’re confident that our A350 will be warmly welcomed
by our customers in Malaysia, and we look forward to giving more travellers the
opportunity to experience our latest and best-in-class products,” Mubarak
added.
A350 offers three cabin classes
The Emirates A350 serving Kuala Lumpur will feature
298 seats across three classes. Business Class comprises 32 lie-flat seats
arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, giving every passenger direct aisle access.
Premium Economy offers 28 seats, while the Economy
Class cabin accommodates 238 passengers.
The aircraft incorporates a number of newer Emirates
cabin features. Business Class passengers have access to wireless charging,
while electronic window blinds in the premium cabins display the airline’s Ghaf
tree motif when closed. Digital inflight menus are available through the
seatback entertainment system.
4K entertainment and upgraded connectivity
The A350 also features the latest generation of
Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system. Ultra-responsive touchscreens
provide 4K and 4K HDR displays designed to improve the onboard viewing
experience.
Connectivity is provided through high-performance
Wi-Fi using ViaSat’s Global Xpress satellite network. Emirates says improved
wireless access points throughout the aircraft are intended to provide better
connectivity for passengers.
Connections via Dubai to more than 20 A350
destinations
The Kuala Lumpur deployment is also intended to
provide a more consistent cabin experience for passengers connecting through
Dubai to other destinations served by the Emirates A350.
Travellers using EK344 and EK345 will be able to
connect to more than 20 destinations across the airline’s network where the
A350 is deployed, including Istanbul, Lyon and Frankfurt, as well as
destinations elsewhere in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and the
Americas.
The addition of the aircraft further expands Emirates’
A350 network while strengthening its product offering in Malaysia, one of the
airline’s long-established Southeast Asian markets.
