Tourexpi
They
first chose the city of Agadir, where, in 2002, the two partners began
operating two 4-star hotels: the Riu Tikida Beach and the Riu Tikida Dunas.
In 2009, they
expanded their properties to Marrakech with the opening of the Riu Tikida Palmeraie, which was totally
refurbished in 2019. Two years later, the city would also become home to the
adults-only Riu Tikida Garden hotel, which was
similarly renovated in 2021. A third hotel opened its doors in Agadir in 2012,
with the Riu Palace Tikida Agadir rounding off
the offering in the Souss region’s capital. The move to invest in this
destination was further reinforced in 2019 with the opening of the Riu Palace Tikida Taghazout hotel in
Taghazout.
Today, RIU boasts six
hotels in Morocco and continues to collaborate with the Tikida group. Three of
their properties are located in the Agadir region, two in Marrakech and one in
Taghazout. They all comply with RIU’s standards of service and quality, and offer
the famous All-Inclusive service.
These six hotels are
the product of a solid 20-year partnership that has enabled RIU to establish
its exclusive service in a country known for its rich culture and
mystique.
Carmen Riu: ‘Our
partnership with the Tikida Group started 20 years ago. It’s always been the
ideal partnership for us to offer our guests the best holiday experience
possible in Morocco. This successful arrangement has been possible because our
two companies share the same values: unswerving commitment to quality, a
mission to provide top service, and an excellent quality-price ratio.’
‘We are pleased to be
celebrating this 20-year anniversary and our partnership with RIU, whose
thoroughness, professionalism and values—at both a human and professional
level—we hold in high regard. An initial phase of life that bodes well for the
future and helps boost the image and attractiveness of our great Moroccan
destinations.’ Ahmed Benabbés-Taarji and Guy Marrache, co-presidents.
About the Tikida group:
Founded in 1968, the Tikida Group is co-led by Mr Guy Marrache and Mr Ahmed
Benabbés-Taarji. It first launched in the travel sector, before expanding into
tourist transportation. Since 1990, with 50 years’ experience, it has been
focusing its efforts solely on hospitality, wellness, golf and leisure. Tikida
Group now has nearly 3,000 hotel rooms, largely in Marrakech, Agadir,
Casablanca and Taghazout, in association with several leading European
companies in the tourism sector. It employs more than 2,800 people.
