One of the world's top four tourism expos, the 23rd East Mediterranean International Travel & Tourism (EMITT) Exhibition, kicked off on Thursday.
More than 700 tour operators from over 100 countries are taking part in the expo, held at the Tuyap Fair and Congresium Center in Istanbul, one of Turkey’s top tourism destinations.
The four-day expo is expected to attract some 10,0000 domestic and international visitors.
The expo will spotlight the accommodation, travel, health tourism, transportation, information technologies, organization services, entertainment and hotel equipment sectors.
Experts from all over the world will also give speeches during the expo.
Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy attended the expo’s opening ceremony on Thursday.
Last year, the expo attracted over 5,000 visitors from 85 countries. (AA)
