Gloria Ironman 70.3 Turkey finished as
the racers arrived at Gloria Sports Arena. 1224 athletes from 60 countries
compeleted the race after a
1.000 volunteers were on duty around the racesourses and the surroundings, in order to support the operation and the athletes. The race which will upgrade Antalya to a sports paradise received great interest and support from the locals. Tens of thousands of people watched the Gloria Ironman 70.3 with a great enthusiasm together with the Gloria family. Turkey followed the race through CNN’s live broadcast.
The Belgian athlete Frederik Van Lierde completed all the racecourses of this most difficult races of the world in 03.53.48 and win the championship cup in Pro Men.. Paul Schuster from Germany was the second with 03.57.53. Patrick Lange from Germany finished the race third with 03.59.50.
Alexandra Tondeur from Belgium completed the racecourses in 04.26.39 and was the first among the Pro Women. Gurutze Frades from Spain followed Alexandra with a degree of 04.28.41. Caroline Livesey from United Kingdom was the third among Pro Women with 04.34.34.
Barlas Kazancı raced under the sponsorship of Gloria Sports Arena. He was the fastest among the Turkish athletes. His degree was 04.28.12.
Treathlete İpek Onaran raced under the sponsorship of Gloria Sports Arena and she achieved a degree of 04.28.12
The CEO of Ironman Europe, Middle East and South Africa, Thomas Dieckhoff completed the Gloria Ironman 70.3 Turket in 06.06.46.
The CNNTürk team, led by Sports Manager Cem Yılmaz, took third place in the teams category.

Even though it was held in Turkey for the first time, the event achieved a large number of participators and thanks to the great weather and admiration towards the courses, it is expected that the number of competitors in the next Gloria Ironman race to take place again next year during this time of the year will be a minimum of 2500.
