Jon Cannon has been appointed as the General Manager of Novotel Samui Resort Chaweng Beach Kandaburi. Located in Koh Samui’s vibrant Chaweng area, the resort offers 183 rooms including suites and family rooms immersed in the greenery and within few steps from the beach, as well as two swimming pools, a bar, two restaurants, a spa, and fitness.
Hailing from the UK, with more than two decades of experience in hospitality in Europe, Oceania, and Asia, of which the last nine years have been with AccorHotels, Jon has developed a well-rounded managerial style focused on both staff and guests. With a proven ability to be adaptable, creative, and resourceful, his strong background in Food & Beverage as well as in operations management is set to take Novotel Samui Resort’s guest experience to the next level.
Jon was chosen in 2015 as one of the 20 executives to undergo AccorHotels’ International Hospitality Management Program (IHMP), a rigorous training seeking to fast-track the career progression of high-potential individuals.
Moving to Thailand in 2017, he served as Executive Assistant Manager (EAM) at Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach, a 166-room resort located in Thailand’s largest and most visited island, Phuket. Following this, he then moved on to become Resident Manager at Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square, AccorHotel’s flagship 426-room property situated in the heart of Bangkok’s downtown.
