Down Syndrom kids beat the ‘barriers’ with Gloria Hotels

A social responsibility project has been working for the last four years in Antalya aiming to keep the down syndrom kids social.
Konyaalti Municipality, Social Cooperation and Soldiarity Center, Dr Günseli- Dr Bülent Akınsal Primary School and Employment Directorate of Antalya have been running a project aiming to win the battle against the isolation of children with down syndrome.
The project with the title; ‘ Lets beat the barriers in Tourism’ is strongly supported by the tourism industry in Antalya.
36 trainees with down syndrom was trained to be a qualified tourism industry member and they received their diplomas.
According to the full cooperation, 16 graduates are working in Gloria Hotels since 16 April 2012 as a member of the staff.
6 graduates are in Gloria Serenity Resort, 6 are in Gloria Golf Resort and 4 graduates are in Gloria Verde Resort. They are employed in the service department.
“The reputation of the corporations depends on how much they pay back to the society from what they earn through business” say Mr Nuri Ozaltin, the owner and the Chairman of the Board. “ So we have to be a part of the project by which down syndrom children are returned to a social life”
